ROCKLAND — For women who have been affected by domestic or dating violence, a support group can be a safe place to talk about the abuse, in an environment that fosters trusting and caring relationships.

New Hope for Women offers these free support groups, in each of the four counties it serves. New groups are now forming in Bath and Waldoboro.

The groups provide the emotional support of peers while enabling attendees to work through the effects of abuse. Ultimately, New Hope for Women's goal is to encourage personal growth and empowerment in all areas of one's life. For more information or to sign up to attend, call New Hope for Women at 1-800-522-3304.

New Hope for Women offers support to people in Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Knox, and Waldo counties affected by domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.

It also provides educational resources to assist communities in creating a safer and healthier future.
