WALDOBORO — Medomak Valley Football team representatives were presented with the Augusta Chapter of Football Officials 2016 "Frank Leary" Sportsmanship Award at the Campbell Conference All-Star Banquet, held [Sunday night] at the Italian Heritage Center in Portland.

This is the second year in a row that Coach Snell, his assistants, and players have been recognized by a board of officials.

Last year they received the Eastern Maine Board of Football Officials/LTC Class D Sportsmanship Award.

When you win this award in consecutive years by two different boards, in two different regions, I would say it is not coincidental. This award speaks volumes about what Coach Snell, his staff, and players are doing on the field each week.

The Award is named after long-time GVHS Athletic Director Frank Leary.
