Here is where we post the daily sports results that we receive. The following is for Friday, May 29, 2015.

If you are at a game and can send the final score to sports@penbaypilot.com, it would be appreciated.

Game Summaries

Oceanside softball tops Erskine Academy

The Oceanside (12-3) softball squad grabbed a 10-1 victory in South China Friday afternoon against Erskine Academy (8-7).

In the pitcher’s circle for the Mariners, Paige Tyler (10-2) went seven innings and allowed two walks and hit one batter while fanning six batters. 

For Erskine Academy, pitcher Malary Chamberlain went seven innings in the circle with three fanned batters. 

At the plate for the Mariners were Kayln Grover (double, single, RBI), Ari Curtis (two singles, RBI), Madelyn Young (two singles), Alexis Mazurek (single, RBI), Casey Pine (single, RBI) and Brianna Dugan (single, RBI). 

At the plate for Erskine Academy were Amber Grady (two singles), Avery Bond (single) and Faye Krause (single). 

On the game, Oceanside head coach Rusty Worcester said: “The Oceanside girls played another good game. Paige threw well once again and we got nine hits on the day and took advantage of [Erskine’s] mistakes to score 10 runs.

Kalyn Grover, Ari Curtis, and Madelyn Young each had two nice hits a piece and Kimmy Roman made an outstanding running catch in center field in the fifth inning.”

Belfast baseball beats Medomak Valley on Senior Day

The Belfast baseball team bested Medomak Valley at home on Senior Day 7-4. 

Micah Williamson (5.2 innings, three walks, eight hits, one fanned batter, seven runs, five earned runs) and Adam Wilcox (1.1 innings, one hit) worked the rubber for the Medomak Valley Panthers. 

Matthew Smith (6 innings, three runs, five fanned batters, three walks, four hits) and Peter Spectre (one inning, one run, one strikeout, two hits and one hit-batter) worked the bump for Belfast. 

At the plate for Medomak Valley, Williamson had a run and stolen base, Nick DePatsy had a run and RBI, Ollie Brown had a home run, two RBI and run, Isaac Eustler had an RBI and Patrick Madden had a stolen base. 

At the plate for Belfast, Lucien Smith had a triple and Andrew Stanley and Alex Canning each had a double. 

Oceanside baseball bests Erskine Academy 3-1

The Oceanside (13-2) baseball team extended its winning streak to 13 as the regular season winds down with a 3-1 victory over host Erskine Academy (9-6) in South China Friday afternoon. 

Nick Mazurek (4-1) worked the mound for the Mariners had pitched all seven innings while allowing one earned run and four hits while whiffing five batters. 

For Erskine Academy, Ryan Rodrigue pitched seven innings and allowed three runs, two earned runs, seven hits, three walks and one hit-batter while fanning eight batters. 

Cody Beaudoin had a double for Erskine while Caleb Cummings had a triple and RBI. 

For Oceanside, Zac Roman and Jimmy Strong each had a pair of singles. Strong also had an RBI. 

The Mariners have a final regular season contest Monday at Medomak Valley and will look to collect a 14th straight victory after opening the season 0-2.
