ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Mark Richard Sligh, of Asheville, N.C., and previously of Rockland, died Oct. 26, 2015, after a long illness.

He was born Aug. 12, 1955, in Grand Rapids, Mich., and grew up in Harbor Springs and Petoskey. He graduated from Yale Law School and practiced law most of his adult life.

He leaves his wife, Lisa Harris, of Asheville, N.C.; his mother, Carol Sligh of Ludington, Mich.; his father and step-mother, Dick and Marti Sligh of Holland, Mich.; his sister, Lee Sligh of Camden; his stepsister, Gretchen Flores of Colorado; his special childhood friends, David Malpass and Adrienne Alm; and many other relatives and friends.

He was very devoted to his family and worked hard at causes he believed in. He is remembered with love and missed by all.
