CAMDEN — Margaret “Margie” Marshall Smith, 79, went home Feb. 6, 2015, from Merry Gardens to join the rest of her family who are waiting to share her smile and her kind loving heart.

Born July 4, 1935, in Camden, Margie was the daughter of John and Alice Kaler Marshall. While growing up in Rockport, she attended local schools and was a 1953 graduate of Rockport High School.

She worked at various jobs throughout her younger years, and devoted most of her life as a full time mother and homemaker.

Margie was a member of the local chapter of the Womens Relief Corps. With her husband, Charles, Margie was a longtime active member of the Penobscot View Grange in Glen Cove.

She enjoyed the family camp on Sheepscot Lake in Palermo. Family gatherings, cookouts, weekends with family on North Haven, all of which often included a good game of Cannaster, were favorite pastimes for Margie’s. She looked forward each week to Thursday evening Yahtzee games and Sunday afternoon rides with her step-daughter, Lucretia Smith.

For the past six years, Margie has appreciated the care and concern of the staff at Merry Gardens, where she enjoyed friendships with the other residents.

Her generosity, kind words and love for her family and friends were admirable.

In addition to her parents, Margie was predeceased by her husband, Charles; two sons, Larry P. Jameson and John Smith; as well as one brother, Bubby Marshall.

She is survived by her son, Leroy “Lee” Jameson and his wife, Cindy; her daughter, Amy Moody and her husband, Wayne, all of Warren; four step-children, Louie Smith of St. George, Tony Smith of Augusta, and Angie Smith and Lucretia Smith, both of Rockland; one brother, Fred Marshall and his wife, Bonnie, of Belfast; three very special sisters, Shirley Marshall of Camden, Jeanette Nash and her husband, Bob, of Rockport, and Bernadett Barrows of Union; nine grandchildren, Corey Jameson and Angela, Anthony Jameson and Sham, Andrew Jameson and Michael Ross, Tobey Moody and Brittany, Josh Moody, and Brandon Moody and Allison; three step-grandchildren, Anthony, Jennifer and Alan; 12 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
