Maine Masters on Mondays Film series

    ROCKLAND — The Georges River Land Trust and The Highlands Coffee House, will be hosting ‘Maine Masters on Mondays’ film series.

    This series celebrate the local artists that have long been inspired by the natural beauty that living in Maine evokes. Films screen at 6:30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month, January, February and March, with a special finale film featured in April. The Maine Masters films are being shown with a suggested donation of $5 to cover the filmmaker's screening costs.

    Each first Monday two 30-minute films will be presented with the first two on January 5, at 6:30 p.m. featuring artists Olive Pierce and Lois Dodd at The Highlands Coffee House, 189 Main St. in Thomaston. Additional Maine Masters films to be screened: February 2, Dahlov Ipcar and David Driskell, and on March 2, Alan Magee and Cabot Lyford.

    The Georges River Land Trust has an understanding that artists have long been inspired by the natural beauty of Maine and hence support local artists through their Artist in Residence program and the Langlais Sculpture Preserve, scheduled to open in 2015.
