UNION – While there have been a lot of articles written in the past two weeks about football, the safety of it, numbers etc., but the game still goes on as kids love to play the game.

Tuesday at the Union Elementary School, the former D.R. Gaul school, the Medomak Youth Football hosted Five Town Football in a middle school football game. The local middle school football teams do not have any affiliation with the schools.

While the field is makeshift, no goal posts, a little short you would never know watching these middle school-aged athletes playing the game they love so much. The fans sit up on a hill which overlooks the playing field and gives everyone a great view of the game.

During the first half of the game, Medomak dominated as Five Town defense struggled to contain the high power offense of Medomak. Not only is Medomak a strong running team, they can really hurt you with their passing game as evident in the first half.

In the end, Medomak won the game 52-8.

The Five Town team was 1-3 going into Tuesday’s game while Medomak remains undefeated.
