Lobsterpalooza and Lobster Mac n Cheese contest returns to Rockland in September

    ROCKLAND —  Just because Labor Day comes and goes, doesn’t mean the lobsters do. Don’t put away the white shoes and certainly don’t stop eating lobster in Midcoast Maine after Labor Day.  Celebrate Lobsterpalooza with $10 lobster specials in restaurants throughout the Penobscot Bay region September 15 – 20, topped off with the second annual Lobster Mac ‘n Cheese contest on Sept. 20

    Thirty professional and amateur chefs will compete for the Lobster Mac ‘n Cheese champion award on Sept. 20, 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at the Rockland Elks Club, 210 Rankin Street, Rockland. The general public will be invited to taste the professional chefs’ creations by purchasing tickets for $10.

     

    Calling all chefs. The Maine Lobsterpalooza is seeking interested chefs to compete for the title of Lobsterpalooza Mac n Cheese Champion in the second annual Lobster Mac n Cheese Contest, Sept. 20, 1 p.m.-4 p.m. in Rockland.  Seeking 20 professional and 10 amateur chefs, this high stakes competition will crown Champion and Honorable Mention awards in both Pro and Amateur categories.  Bragging rights are huge, along with the publicity that will result.

    New this year, all professional chefs participating will also be asked to provide tastings to the judges and 200 ticket holders who will join the fun this year.  Amateur chefs will serve as judges only. Contest entries can include any original recipe desired but must include Maine Lobster, any kind of pasta and any kind of cheese.  No entry fee for chefs, and discounts provided on cheese and lobster meat.
