Lincolnville shoots its way past Camden-Rockport boys










CAMDEN — The Camden-Rockport Middle School boys eighth grade basketball team played well enough to win most games Monday afternoon as they hosted Lincolnville, however it was raining threes for the Lynx who led by as many as 21 points before finishing with a 69-55 win.
The Lynx poured in nine 3-pointers in the game and had four scorers in double figures.
Lincolnville took an 18-11 first quarter lead and held a 36-25 half time advantage. In the third quarter, they opened up the game taking the 21-point lead 57-36 into the final stanza.
Michael Kremin led the Lynx with 20 points; Inout Lodge and Zach Markowitz had 14 each; Trey Gilson 11; Noah Lang eight; and Carson Whitney two.
Lincolnville was 19-of-29 (66 percent) from the foul line and had nine 3-pointers, Kremlin (five), and Lodge and Markowitz (two each).
The Schooners had three players in double figures led by Jack Hanson with 20 points; Kerry Sabanty 14; Michael McGeady 11; and Sam Hebert added nine.
Camden-Rockport was 2-of-8 (25 percent) from the foul line and they had one 3-pointer from McGready.
Camden-Rockport will travel to Waldoboro Wednesday, Jan. 7 to play Medomak Middle School. Lincolnville will host Oceanside Blue the same day.
According to the Busline League schedule, the boys games will be first the rest of the way, starting at 3:45 p.m.
With these boys all heading to Camden Hills next season, the freshmen class will have some solid players able to certainly be a help to the program in the near future.
