Lewis E. ‘Woody’ Johnson, obituary

Lewis E. "Woody" Johnson, 92, died October 24 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He was born October 27, 1924 in Cushing to Eddie and Dorothy Miller Johnson. He graduated from Thomaston High School in the class of 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He met and married Evangeline McLean in 1946.

He worked as a truck mechanic for Boston and Rockland Transport and Sanborn Express from 1949-1970. He then worked from 1970-1993 as a glazier for several glass companies in Rockland. He was predecease by his wife, Evangeline, who died in 2013.

He is survived by his daughter, Ingrid Roman, and her husband, Ralph, of Zephyr Hills, Florida; grandchildren Eric Roman of State College, Pennsylvania, and Michael Roman of Haverhill, Massachusetts; and a great-grandson Owen Roman of Haverhill, Massachusetts.

A private family burial will be held at the Village Cemetery in Thomaston.
