Letter to the editor: When community comes together, possibilities are endless
King David's Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, of Lincolnville, would like to thank the following businesses and community groups for their contributions in making the Benefit Supper for 3-year old Andy O'Brien a success. It was great to see the community work together for this little boy and his family.
Belfast Co-Op, Camden Rockport High School National Honor Society, Dolce Vita Farm - Rose and Peter, Drake Corner Store, Hannaford's, Four Aces Arms, Just Jumpin, Lincolnville Central School, The Lobster Pound, Milk House Farms - Andy and Caitlin, UCC Community Building, Wentworth Family Grocery, Western Auto and Whales Tooth Pub.
Special thanks to the people who did public relations by spreading the word, our poster and sign makers, all that was sent to the newspapers and put online which so many people shared.
The setup, kitchen, serving and cleanup crews were efficient and all had smiles on their faces. Thanks to all of the family and friends of the Lodge and the hundreds of people who came to the dinner to support Little Andy and his family.
Approximately 600 adults and children enjoyed the meals, and many last in line enjoyed coffee and dessert and still gave a donation. Many people within and beyond our community made desserts and they were delicious. When local community people come together the possibilities are endless.
