SOUTH THOMASTON — Joyce E. Fogg passed away Aug. 13, 2015, at the Sussman House in Rockport, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Dec. 2, 1937 in Rockland to Clarence and Adelaide Flanders. Joyce grew up in Rockland and attended local schools. She married Gilbert Fogg in 1955 and they started a family together, but later divorced although they remained friends. Joyce was a busy mom raising her children in those early years.

She is survived by four sons and three daughters, Guy Fogg and his wife, Pam, of Cushing, Albert Fogg and his companion, Norma, of Bangor, Robert Fogg , Maynard Fogg, Brenda Firth and her husband, Jack, all of South Thomaston, Debra Pease and her husband, David, of Union, and Margaret Sarnacki and her husband, Stan, of Swanville; a very close brother and friend, Robert Flanders of Rockland; a sister, Barb Fowles and her husband, Archie, of Rockland; an ex-daughter in-law, Pat Fogg, who she remained in touch with; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces that she loved dearly.

Joyce was predeceased by two children, a son, David Fogg of Rockland and a daughter, Frances Warren of Searsport; her parents, Clarence and Adelaide Flanders; two brothers, Walter Flanders and his wife, Arlene, and Albert Flanders and his wife, Betty; a sister, Helen Reed and her husband, Bill; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Flanders and Charlotte Flanders; and two cousins she considered as sisters, Marion Orne and Joan McGowen.

A special thank you to the staff at Pen Bay Medical Center for the great care given to Joyce throughout the years, and also to the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Sussman House for their help with Joyce and her family.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit Wednesday, Aug. 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland, where a private service for family and close friends will be held Thursday, Aug. 20 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Achorn Cemetery in Rockland.
