WARREN – Jennie Louise Sukeforth Demmons, 76, went to be with the Lord, Aug. 19, 2014.

Born in Rockland on July 6, 1938, she was the daughter of Roland and Phyllis Moore Sukeforth.

On July 30, 1955, she married her grade school sweetheart, Ralph Demmons Jr. They lived in Fort Worth, Texas, while her husband served in the U.S. Air Force.

Jennie's work career included employment as a waitress in Rockland, at Sylvania in Waldoboro and for 18 years at National Sea Products in Rockland, until the closing of that plant. At that time, she completed a certified nursing assistant course. After graduating, she worked at Coastal Child Care, which she loved very much, and was very fond of the children there. She later worked at Rockland Head Start and retired from that job. Even in retirement, Jennie could not sit still as she served as a caregiver for two ladies. She enjoyed her job and became very attached to them.

In addition to her parents, Jennie was predeceased by a sister, Helen Small. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Demmons Jr. of Warren; her children, Gary Demmons and his wife, Lori, of Kentucky, Robert Demmons and his companion, Lena, of Tenants Harbor, Phyllis Davis and her husband, George, of Warren, and Linda Hills and her companion, Dave, of Auburn; her grandchildren, Christina Campbell and her husband, Andrew, Joseph Harris and his wife, Kari, Robert Demmons Jr. and his wife, Melissa, Scott Demmons, Breanna Demmons, Jonathan Demmons and his wife, Shelby, Sarah and her husband, Jordan Stearns, Derek Jeffers and Zachary Titus; her great-grandchildren, Brandon and his companion, Tamika, Andrew Campbell Jr., Nicole, Shannon, Jazmine, Brennan, Cerra, Trevor, Rhiannon and Victoria; one great great-granddaughter, Isabella; one nephew; three nieces, including a very special niece that she was very close to, Kathryn Dinsmore; as well as several great nieces and nephews; and last but not least, two special babies, her chihuahuas, Pedro and Cocoa, that she loved very much. She will meet her other babies, Baby, Yoda and Sheba, on Rainbow Bridge where they are waiting for her.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, Sept. 4 at 2 p.m. at Seaview Cemetery in Rockport, accessible from Chestnut Street in Camden.
