THORNDIKE — James S. Curtis, 94, of Thorndike, passed away on Jan. 10, 2017, in Belfast. He was born in Jackson on April 10, 1922, to Albert and Lettie (Hamlin) Curtis.

James was a U.S. Army veteran. In his spare time, he enjoyed tending his vegetable gardens and hunting. He also enjoyed going to lunch with his special niece, Sandra Sargent.

James was predeceased by both parents; and several siblings. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Curtis; his son, Dean Curtis of Thorndike; his daughter, Melanie Milewski and her husband, Robert, of Searsport; a brother, Francis Curtis of Newington, Conn.; her granddaughter, Lindsey Curtis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Spring interment will be at Center Cemetery in Thorndike.
