LINCOLNVILLE – James A. Morrison, Sr., 77, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, following a very brief illness, Sunday, October 8, 2017 at his home.

Born in St. George, September 1, 1940, he was the son of Kenneth and Eileen Havener Morrison. Following the untimely death of his mother during childbirth of his youngest sibling, James went to live with his grandparents Evelyn and Alexander 'Sandy' Morrison, who raised him. Jim attended St. George schools, graduating from St. George High School.

Following graduation, Jim entered the work force. Over the years he held various jobs before becoming a plumber, working with Friendship Plumbing and Heating, as well as Nash's Plumbing.

At one point during his career he was employed with Eaton Filling Station. Most recently he finished his career with Ferraiolo Construction as a cement truck driver. Always a hard worker, his daughters remembered he often worked two or three jobs at one time.

On October 27, 1962, Jim married Helen Pierce Newhall in Camden. Together, they made their home in Camden before settling in Lincolnville where they built their home. Mrs. Morrison passed away in 2003.

An avid outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed many annual hunting and fishing trips. He was a quiet and reserved person who truly enjoyed solitude. He will be missed by all who loved him.

Predeceased by his grandparents, his parents; his brother Neil Morrison; an infant sister Judith Morrison; and a brother-in-law Al Campoine; Mr. Morrison is survived by his children, Linda Berry and her husband, Rodney, of Lincolnville; James A. Morrison, Jr., of Milton, Fla.; Tina Hall and her husband, Michael, of Washington; a sister, Diane Campoine, of Winter Garden, Fla.; a sister-in-law Martha Morrison, of Rockville; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Maynard 'Jack' and Priscilla Pierce, of Lincolnville; an aunt Ruth 'Arlene' Strout of Bath; three grandchildren, Jonathan Barrows and his wife, Lisa Rosinsky, of Jamaica Plains, Mass.; Daniel Hall of Washington, Ashley Miller and her husband, Wayne, of Washington; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Hendron, Isabelle Miller; a special cousin who was like a sister, Sandra Sukeforth, and her husband, Philip, of Waldoboro; a good friend, Kendall Smith, of Lincolnville; his feline companion, 'Marley', and many nieces and nephews.

At Mr. Morrison's request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pope Memorial Humane Society of Knox County, P.O. Box 1294, Rockland, Maine 04841.
