James D. Entwistle, obituary
TUCSON, Arizona — Our brother, James D. Entwistle, recently passed away in November from cancer. He lived in Tucson, Arizona. He was 73. He was married to Louise (Kojima) for 46 years. They lived in California for several years before making their home in Tucson.
James, Jim, or Jamie, was originally from Owls Head, a stone's throw from Casper's store. Don't ask us how we know that! He was Valedictorian of the RDHS class of 1970. He graduated from RPI in New York, followed by his lifelong career as an electrical engineer. He worked for Hughes Aircraft Company and later Raytheon. Jamie led a design unit and was a member of an international team of defense engineers.
In retirement, Jamie enjoyed travelling, music, golf, and fly fishing, especially at the family camp on Round Pond in Rangeley. He was a member of the Tucson Methodist Church and was a long-time member of the church choir and bell-ringing group. He loved coming back to Maine in the summers to escape the heat of Tucson. He especially loved Wasses and Dorman's.
Jamie was the son of the late James L. Entwistle, Jr. and Barbara J. Entwistle.
He leaves his wife, Louise, and four Maine siblings: Jean Young of South Thomaston, Judy Entwistle of Brunswick, John Entwistle and his wife Beth of Portland, Jerry Entwistle and his wife Debby of Warren. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
