WINTERPORT — Ian D. Berry, 35, of Winterport, passed away March 2, 2017. Ian was born Feb. 17, 1982. He had many great qualities, but perhaps the most important was his compassion for other people.

He was always there to help anyone who needed to be consoled or someone to just listen and understand. He was loved by many who knew this about him. Ian was simply a great guy who left this world much too soon. He was a smart, generous and gentle person who always wore a smile. He had a sharp wit and loved to laugh and joke.

He was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

He leaves behind his mother, Ellen Maher and her husband, Peter; his father, David Berry and stepmother Linda Berry; his grandfather, Donald Berry and his companion, Sophia Wirta; his sister, Michele O'Connell and her husband, Bo; his aunts, Joyce Paciolla, and Linda Billings and her husband, Ed; his stepsisters, Wendy Lambeth and her husband, Rob, Shannon Flewelling and her husband, Ron, and Brooke Powers; his stepbrother, Torrey Weaver and his fiance, Mandy Mayhew; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private graveside service will be held this summer.
