Rockport Police with the assistance of Camden police, the Maine Warden Service, the Maine State Police Criminal Investigation Division, and the Rockport Fire Department are investigating the discovery of a badly decomposed body found approximately 500 yards in the woods off Mt. Pleasant Road in Rockport.

 

Police were called to the scene near the Hope line after a hunter walking through the woods made the discovery late this afternoon, Nov. 1.

 

“At this time we are investigating this as an unattended death,” said Police Chief Randy Gagne, in a news release. “Identification was found at the scene. The body has been transported to the State Medical Examiners Office for examination and positive identification. The matter is under investigation and no further details will be released at this time.”
