ROCKLAND — Hiram Robert Brown, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 10, 2015, at his home, with his loving wife, Valerie, by his side. Hiram was born Nov. 3, 1950, in Camden, and was a lifelong resident of the Midcoast area.

He was a classic car enthusiast. Along with his father, the late Hiram Brown Sr., Hiram was a lifelong member and supporter of the Masons and the Midcoast Shriners. Hiram was a 1969 graduate of Rockland High School and attended Worcester Poly Tech in Worcester, Mass. He became a licensed master electrician in 1972 and gave 30 years of devoted service to Central Maine Power Company in the Rockland office.

As a respected and successful proprietor for Hiram R. Brown Electric, he is remembered for having mentored a number of local apprentice electricians. Hiram will always be remembered, by those who were honored to know and love him, for his loving kindness, sense of humor, ready smile, big hugs, tremendous generosity and absolute devotion to family and friends. His passing is a monumental loss for all who were privileged to know him, but most greatly to Valerie, his loving wife of 14 years.

Hiram was predeceased by his father, Hiram A. Brown; his mother, Shirley G. Grant; and his sister, Nancy Brackett. He is survived by his wife; his sister, Sheila Lawson; his stepchildren, Andrea Whitesell and her husband, Gregg, Joanne Valence and her husband, Dave, and Carol Tomaine and her husband, Chandler Pease; his 11 grandchildren, Elizabeth Pease and her husband, Kris, Carly Murray and her husband, William, Matthew Weil, Nicole Weil and her fiancé, Derek, Ryan Erhardt and his wife, Alicia, Sean Erhardt and his fiancé, Jackie, Kyle Erhardt, Katelyn Erhardt and her significant other, Josh Knox, Lindsay Whitesell and her significant other, Matthew Worstell, Avery McCrea and her husband, Travis McCrea, and Elaine; his great-grandchildren, Oren, Mason, Alaina, and Logan Pease, Grace and Liam Murray, Ariana, Evan and Ayla Erhardt, and Addyson Valerie Curschmann; his son-in-law, William R. Weil; special friends, Paul Rackliff and Scott Curit; and several nieces and nephews.

No services are planned at this time.
