Gordon Hibbert Moody passed away Jan. 8, 2016, at Eastern Maine Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. He was born Sept. 15, 1933, in Castine and was the son of C. Simmons Moody and Elizabeth Hibbert Moody of Islesboro.

He graduated from Islesboro high school in 1951. He served four years in the United States Air Force before working throughout the country in telecommunications, until retirement from GTE in 1991. He returned to Islesboro for several years before moving to Belfast.

He was a past master mason and a member of the Anah Shriner's Temple in Bangor. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belfast, where a memorial service was held Jan. 17, 2016.

He is survived by his sister, Deborah Trasko and her husband, Bob, of Uncasville, Conn. as well as their three children, Scott, David and Lauren.
