Glen D. McCarty, obituary

Glen D. McCarty, 54, passed away in Rockport on October 6, 2016 surrounded by his loving family and friends after a year-long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. 

Glen was the owner of M.C. Builders in Warren.  He always put others before himself.  Glen enjoyed playing jokes on his family and friends and staying at a camp he built for his sister, Beth, in Solon, Maine. He also enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling, boating on the lake at South Shore Drive, snowmobiling, ice fishing, fireworks displays, riding his motorcycle and charity motorcycle rides for Toys for Tots, holidays and making his “famous” beans and kielbasa for his family and many, many friends. 

Glen is survived by his father, Leroy McCarty; his mother, Donna McCarty; two brothers, Tony McCarty and Kevin McCarty; two sisters, Beth McCarty and Linda Richards, of Solon; his son, David McCarty, and wife Christina, of Waldoboro; his girlfriend of many years, Paula J. Grafton, of Warren; daughters Samantha and Jessie, of Warren; many aunts, uncles and cousins, motorcycle “brothers” and numerous good friends. 

A celebration of Glen’s life will be held October 22, 2016 at 206 South Shore Drive, Warren from 1 to 5 p.m.  Those who wish may make donations in Glen’s memory made out to Toys for Tots Knox County, 67 Main Street, Thomaston, ME 04861.
