Friendship man charged with beating another man

    ROCKLAND — A Friendship man remains in jail after he was arrested Sunday, March 12, for allegedly beating another man.

    Travis P. Reed, 19, was with charged with Class B, felony aggravated assault. He was taken to the Knox County Jail in Rockland and is being held without bail until his initial court appearance, Monday afternoon, March 13.

    According to Knox County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Tim Carroll, deputies were called to Maine General Hospital in Augusta after receiving information that a man was there with obvious signs of being in a fight.

    Deputy Jeremy Joslyn went to the hospital to talk with the victim. The victim told police that he had been at a residence in Friendship and questioned Reed regarding statements he allegedly said about him. The victim stated that Reed allegedly started punching him in the face and did not stop after making contact many times. He said there were witnesses to the altercation.

    The hospital confirmed with police that the victim had many facial fractures.

    Joslyn obtained a warrant for Reed’s arrest and he was found later that day. Reed was arrested without incident and transported to the Knox County Jail.
