More and more, people are turning to Craigslist to sell, buy, barter and give away myriad categories of goods and services. Following is a verbatim sampling — typos and all — of some of the posts we found in the "free" category this past week. Many of the posts are the usual stuff - slightly broken old televisions, furniture and exercise equipment - but at least one person giving away something called a spade a spade with their post offering a "crappy sofa." It also looks like the holidays are creeping into Craigslist, with an offer for a free 60-foot-tall Christmas tree to the first community to show up with a crane and flat bed truck.

apple wood/brush, use in smoker (York)

just took down an old apple tree from the yard to make room for new fruit trees to grow. plenty of branches and brush. about 2" in diameter and down. is good to cut into chips and use in a smoker for a distinct flavor. used some on a turkey last thanksgiving and it was great.
right on the roadside for easy loading, and if I'm here I will help. can throw in an old pear tree, about 8" in dia and down as well if this helps. must take all. will easily fill a pickup bed full.

Pet Odds and Ends (Limington)

I have a bunch of pet odds and ends. My cat recently passed away and I have no use for most of this. I figured rather than throw it away, there may be someone out there who can use the items. Included are the following-
1 box of Hartz Ultraguard Plus Flea and Tick drops- only one container out of 3 used. These are the good drops that you put on the cat's neck. They work really well.
1 package of Greenie's Pill Pockets bought from Petco. They are little pockets that you can put medication or pills in for your cat to take easier or they can just be used at treats. Only 3 or 4 missing.
1 container of Hartz sensitive care face cleaning wipes
1 bottle each of betadine and hydrocortisone spray. Good for "hot spots" on dogs or cats due to allergies/fleas/dry skin/etc
1 bottle of Adams flea and tick bath for cats
1 pet harness for a medium sized cat or small dog (not pictured). Color is tan. Bought at Petco.

2 Paper Jamz guitars (Limington)

I have two paper jamz brand guitars that my son no longer plays with. He hardly used them after wanting them so bad last Christmas so they are in pretty good shape and both work just fine if you add some batteries. I have 8 storm windows that were just removed. They are in good and solid condition. I hope someone can use them. If they aren't gone within a few days, they are going to the dump. I have five windows that are (28 wide by 46 high) and three windows that are (28 wide by 52 high). One has a frame that came apart during removal but probably can be fixed with a few screws. Small biscuit colored refrigerator (12 to 14 cu.ft?) Will turn on and get up to temperature, but then it won't come back on after it shuts off. Maybe you want to have it fixed? Not very old but has a couple small dings in the door. If you are a scrapper who lets the freon out into the atmosphere (Very bad for the environment & highly illegal)-- forget it.
