CAMDEN — Florence Lorraine Brown, 82, a long-time resident of Rockport, died after a very brief illness April 15, 2013, at Windward Gardens in Camden. Born in Rockland April 5, 1931, she was the daughter of Delville and Madeline (Leach) Trundy and was a graduate of Rockland High School. A resident of Rockport village for many years, Lorraine was a busy homemaker and raised her four children. When the children were school aged, she went to work at Camden Rexall when it was located on the corner of Washington and Elm streets. Lorraine worked there as a clerk and tended the lunch counter making many friends. For 33 years, she worked for the drugstore, including when it relocated to Reny's Plaza, later becoming Camden Drug.

A people person at heart, Lorraine also was very artistic. She enjoyed painting birdhouses, making a variety of crafts and redecorating.

Family was most important to Lorraine. Her home was the hubbub for weekly Sunday dinners for many years. One of her favorite pastimes was to recall stories of her escapades with her grandchildren.

In addition, she was well-liked by the friends of her grandchildren and was affectionately dubbed "Grambo," an offshoot of the movie Rambo that was popular at that time.

Though tending to be a more private person, Lorraine created friendships wherever she went and will be sadly missed by many.

Surviving are her children, Debra Milliken and her husband, Dennis, of Rockport, Pamela Swartz and her husband, Thomas, of Camden, and Glenn Brown of Lincolnville; seven grandchildren, Brandon Milliken and his wife, Angie, of Camden, Janessa Milliken of Rockport, Jade Arn of Portland, Skye Swartz of Rockland, Chad Brown and his wife, Jen, of Appleton, Kristina Brown and her fiancé, Kyle Dinsmore, of Warren, and Grady Brown of Lincolnville; her great-grandchildren, Mila Milliken, Sasha McClure, Emily Brown and Taylor Brown; two sisters, Justine Craw and her husband, Terry of Naples, of Florida, and Kathy Craig and her husband, Ron, of Woodbury, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Brown.

A private gathering for the family will be held at the time of interment in Seaview Cemetery in Rockport.

Memorial gifts in her memory may be made to Kno-Wal-Lin Hospice, 170 Pleasant Street, Rockland, ME 04841.
