JACKSON - Eleanor M. Tibbetts, 87, of Jackson, passed away on Nov. 8, 2016, in Bangor. She was born Nov. 27, 1928, in St. Albans, the daughter of Harold and Dorothy (Downs) Brewer.

After marrying her husband, Hank, in 1946, they settled in Jackson and started their family. She was the town clerk of Jackson for 24 years. Eleanor worked in the kitchen cooking for fairs and community events in her town, which she enjoyed very much. Her family remembers her as a talented homemaker and caregiver for her children and foster children.

She was predeceased by her parents; a sister; her husband, Odber "Hank" Tibbetts; and one grandson. Eleanor is survived by her children, Harold of Jackson, Hazen of Winterport, Mark of Jackson and Priscilla Peabody of Thorndike; her foster children, Eddie of New Hampshire, Dana and Douglas, both of Jackson, Maxine Schneider of South Carolina and Fay Rowell of New Hampshire; her brother-in-law, Westly Tibbetts of Belfast; her sister-in-law, Ethel Tibbetts of Unity; seven grandchildren; her foster grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside interment will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m. at Jackson Corner Cemetery, with a gathering to follow at Jackson Community Center.
