BELFAST —Friends and family of Lynn Marie (Day) Arsenault are organizing a candlelight vigil to honor and celebrate her life Friday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. in Belfast.

Aresnault lived in Garland with her husband. She was shot and killed Aug. 28 in the Belfast home she owned and stayed in on days she worked in town, at Bank of America. Arsenault’s son, Mathew Day, 21, was also shot and injured that evening. He lives in the Waldo Avenue home full-time.

The candlelight vigil will take place at Belfast City Park, which is located at 85 Northport Ave.

The community is encouraged to participate. There will be an opportunity to share thoughts and memories of Lynn. Participants should bring a candle and/or flashlights. Those who can't attend are asked to show their support for Lynn and her family by placing a candle in a window or on a doorstep that evening.
