BELFAST — Albert J. Salvatore Sr., 73, of Belfast, died peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of April 17, 2017. He was the son of Albert Frank Salvatore and Josephine Roscia, his wife.

He worked all his life as a master mechanic, first for Ford, and then as owner and operator of his own business, Al's Auto. He also ventured into the restaurant business with his wife and sister-in-law with the Twilight Cafe. He was a great strategist and planned and set up Twilight Cafe's kitchens as well as managing the ordering for the restaurant. He never met a problem he couldn't solve. His mind was always working and planning until the very end.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Mary; their three children, Maura and her husband, Eric, Albie and wife, Julie, and Nick and his wife, Sonja; his sister, Dottie Salvatore; his sisters-in-law, Kathleen Knight and her four girls, Jess and Joe, Libby, Rebecca and Marie, who he thought of as daughters, and their children, Maureen and her husband, Danny, and their daughter, and Bridget and her husband, Mike; and his brother in-law, Mike and his wife, Aprille, and their sons, Jarrod and Derek and their children. He is lovingly remembered by the lights of his life, his seven grandchildren, Kerenza, Nick, Jed, Chloe, Josie, Karoline and Nolan.

He has joined his parents, his in-laws and his nephew, William, in Heaven.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Belfast Area High School Boosters Club.

There will be a private Mass of Christian burial celebrated with his family. A gathering and time of sharing with family and friends will be held at Riposta Funeral Home on Friday, April 21, from 4 to 6 p.m. All are welcome.
