APPLETON — A 5K walk/run will be held on Appleton Ridge Saturday, Oct. 8 for Darcy Blethen and her family. 

Blethen, per a press release, has recently traveled to Austria to receive metastatic breast cancer treatments not available in the United States. 

Proceeds from this event will help alleviate the costs of treatment and living expenses for her and her family while she is over there.

Check in will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the race will begin at 10 a.m.

Race is being held on Appleton Ridge Road

Take 131 from Route 17, then take a left onto Route 105 and then a right onto Appleton Ridge Road. Parking and start line will be a half-mile up the road.
