Bea Flood, obituary
BELFAST — Bea Flood, 83, of Belfast, passed away June 7, 2014, in Blue Hill.
Born Bertha Lillian Bachelder March 3, 1931, she transcended the limits of the physical world to join her husband, Warren; her sons, Ron, John and Jeff; her granddaughter, Melanie; her parents, John and Gladys (Whitten) Bachelder; her sisters, Pearl and Phyllis; her brother, Raymond; and her nephew, David. Still here to carry on Bea's legacy are her daughter, Rebecca; and her son, Terry; her grandchildren, Warren, Danny, Jimmy, Yvonne, Sara, Matthew, Christy, John Thomas, Adam, Sadie, Amy, Harmony, Benjamin and Thomas; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandson; her sisters, Ruth, Shirley and Maxine; many nieces and nephews; her brother-in-law, Don; and a special friend and sister-in law, Louise.
Bea was known for her independent, free spirit, limitless energy, the desire for fun and adventure, her love of God, music, dancing and singing.
Many will remember her beautiful singing. She will most be remembered as a mom and grandmother who kept the home fires burning and the many, many meals she cooked for her children and grandchildren. She loved motorcycles and was blessed with one last ride at the age of 81.
Bea would love to give one last message to all those she loves: "Whatever you are, be a good one" — Abraham Lincoln.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 28 at 1 p.m. at Bird Farm, 377 Lincolnville Ave. in Belfast.
Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home.
