Put your seatbelt on; enforcement campaign begins May 19

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in a two-week campaign May 19 to June 1 in conjunction with the national Click It or Ticket program.
The Sheriff’s Office has received a grant that will fund dedicated overtime to patrol deputies for occupant protection education and seatbelt high-visibility enforcement during this period. This law applies to not only operators, but passengers, as well. The fine for a first offense seatbelt violation is $70.
