Tri County Rescue annual drill scatters glass, primes muscles
SEARSMONT — Tri County Rescue, along with two members of the Camden Fire Department, practiced extricating car accident victims with the guidance of instructor Troy Lare. This year's primary scenario involved a car broadsiding a flatbed truck carrying another truck. The truck being carried broke loose, rolling onto the passenger car. A SUV then hit the entire scene.
A second scenario involved a car rolled onto its side, which was only accessible by lifting the dash while standing on ladders. This scenario provided training in how to provide patient care to a passenger suspended by a seatbelt.
Tri Town Rescue comprises Searsmont, Montville and Liberty. All of this would not have been possible without the generous donation of vehicles from Soohey's Auto Sales, a tractor trailer from Lucas Construction and the truck from GAC (General Alum Corporation).
