Hope elects two selectmen, approves school budgets
HOPE — From a slate of five candidates, Hope citizens elected two to fill the two open selectmen seats. The race between the candidates, however, was close.
Incumbent Wendy Pelletier, with 105 votes, and David Bosken, 86 votes, were elected. Behind them, Brittany Payson received 82 votes; James Blanchette, 80; and Ryan Entwistle, 55.
Three Budget Committee members were elected for three open seats: Joseph Berry, 159; Jean Ettinger, 183; and William Jones, 184.
Kathryn Ryan received 187 votes to serve a one-year term on the School Committee. She ran unopposed.
John Monroe received 168 votes to be the town’s road commissioner for three years. He ran unopposed.
There were three write-ins for a three-year term on the school committee, but no one officially sought that seat.
Citizens approved their K-8 school budget, 122 to 56.
They also approved a land use ordinance change, 110 to 49; a zoning map, 109 to 50; and they approved the Five Town CSD school budget 164 to 72.
