ROCKLAND – Lila J. Magie died Dec. 23, 2012, in her 85th year in Rockland. Born in New York, N.Y., she was the daughter of Melvin H. Magie of Duluth, Minn., and Gertrude Behnken Magie of Brooklyn, N.Y.

She attended schools in New York, graduated from Purdue University and resided for many years in Bronxville, N.Y. Ms Magie worked in human relations for The Rockefeller University from 1950 to 1991. At the time of her retirement she was corporate secretary and administrator for senior faculty affairs.
