Today's nor'easter continues to blow across Maine, and it won't be letting up until early in the morning Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Most state and municipal government offices are closed today, while some businesses either gave their employees the day off or they had a shorter work-day due to early closures. Kids are still on Christmas vacation this week, so there's no concern of using up school snow days for this storm.
The roads have remained relatively clear of traffic, as many people have opted to stay put on this windy, snowy, slushy Thursday. The most visible vehicle on the roads though are snow plows, both the town-owned and state variety and those owned by private contractors and homeowners. And luckily for emergency personnel, there have been very few accidents to respond to today.
The National Weather Service is calling for another winter storm to hit the state Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 29 and 30. But for now, we'll just get through this storm before we think too much about the next one.
