Waldoboro Police beat: Assault, theft, accidents
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 104 calls for service from Jan. 11-18. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Jan. 14
Officer Larry Hesseltine is investigating a possible identity theft of a citizen.

Jan. 15
Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident at the intersection of Kaler’s Corner and Main Street at 10:10 a.m. William Garland, 68, of Jefferson, was driving a 2014 Toyota pickup truck. Stacy Flanders, 23, of Rockland, was driving a 2009 Dodge sedan. Garland failed to yield the right of way when he pulled out from Bremen Road in front of Flanders’ vehicle traveling on Main Street. Injuries were reported.
Jan. 17
Fuller investigated an accident at the intersection of Kaler’s Corner and Atlantic Highway, at 9:35 a.m. Ruby Parker, 82, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2003 Subaru sedan on Kaler’s Corner Road. Sterling Crooker, 67, of New Harbor, was driving a 2008 Honda pickup truck on Atlantic Highway. Parker failed to yield the right of way, striking Crooker’s vehicle in the driver’s side rear. No injuries were reported.
Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen of assault.

Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen of the theft of two packages from his residence some time in December.
