Concession stand caper seeks clues from canaries, citizens-in-the-know
WALDOBORO — The Waldoboro Police Department is investigating break-ins at two local Little League concession stands, both of which occurred late last month.
On June 25, Officer Larry Hesseltine began the investigation after the department received a call from the League’s concession stand coordinator, Bonnie Moody.
Reportedly taken from the stand, located at Sukeforth Field, were candy, ice cream and various snacks valued at $50.
Taken from the concession stand located at Foster Field was $80, stored in a money box.
According to Mel Tracy, Waldoboro’s public safety secretary, “It is believed that a coach lost his keys and access was made to the buildings with the missing keys.”
Tracy noted that all locks at the fields have been changed since the incidents.
Police do not have any suspects at this time, according to Tracy, and Waldoboro is asking that anyone with information call 207-832-5369.
