UPDATE: Rockland man dies after falling from Rockland pub railing
ROCKLAND — At approximately 11:36 p.m. on June 12, a Rockland emergency medical crew and police responded to the Time Out Pub on Main Street, where a man had fallen off the upper outside deck.
Mark Boynton, 25, of Rockland, had reportedly been seen attempting to use the deck's railing as a seat, when he fell over backward, according to a news release from The Rockland Police Department. The railing is roughly 17 feet from the pavement below. The Time Out Pub has a balcony overlooking the Rockland Public Landing parking lot and facing the waterfront.
Boynton suffered life threatening injuries. He was initially transported to Pen Bay Medical Center, and later transferred to Maine Medical Center. Boynton died as a result of his injuries June 13.
Rockland Police and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are continuing to investigate.
Boynton was employed at Cappy’s Chowder House in Camden.
