Kenya Hall performs at Underground Lounge, May 8
BELFAST — Portland-based Kenya Hall and her trio bring a night of soul, funk, and unfiltered energy to Belfast’s Underground Lounge. This final show of this year’s series takes place on Thursday, May 8, from 7 to 9 p.m. The Underground Lounge is located at 17 Court Street, under the Basil Burwell Theatre.
"A dynamic force in the world of modern soul music, Kenya Hall delivers raw, powerful vocals backed by a deep groove and unapologetic passion," said the Underground, in a news release. "Drawing comparisons to legends like Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill, Hall's music blends soul, R&B, funk, and hip-hop with an authenticity that’s all her own. Whether she’s performing her original music or reimagining classics, Kenya Hall’s shows are an invitation to move, feel, and connect."
With years of experience lighting up national and local stages, including sharing slots with artists like The Roots, Shemekia Copeland, Lettuce, Rustic Overtones and more, Hall has cultivated a loyal fanbase drawn to her commanding stage presence and indomitable vocals. This intimate performance at The Underground Lounge is an opportunity to experience her artistry up close and personal.
Admission is $10–$20 (cash only) at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m. Seating is limited, so early arrival is recommended. Home-baked treats and beverages will be available for purchase.
