The Chris Wolf Show gets religion
Friday, May 8, PenBayPilot.com and the Chris Wolf Show will host the Rev. Peter Jenks, of Thomaston. This show will be streaming live on www.MaineCoast.TV and broadcast on WRFR FM 7-8 a.m.According to Rev. Jenks: "One of my great escapes and ways to relax is to read or watch mystery stories. It is always a fun challenge for me to try and figure out, ‘who done it’. So often, I have found, the one that is the obvious culprit and seems to be guilty is not the one who is revealed to be the guilty party when the truth is exposed. And a good mystery story, when it is over, leaves me going back over the story remembering all the clues I overlooked, or didn’t understand at the time, or thought to be unrelated to the case. When I look back I can see how it all fits together, but when I was reading the story it was all so puzzling."
The Rev. Jenks will be the guest to talk about a couple of real life mysteries he's concerned about. First, what to do in regards to health care in our community, particularly the lack of primary care physicians in the Rockland area. And second, the idea of coming together to have an annual time for the larger community to address issues that affect us all. What he calls a "Knox Conference.”
The Rev. Peter Jenks has been the priest at the Episcopal Church of St. John Baptist in Thomaston since 1992. He came here after serving a church in Newport News, Virginia.
His wife is Emily Jenks, owner and director of the Rockland School of Ballet on Lindsey Street. Many of us saw his dancing debut in their recent performance.
Between them they have five children who all grew up in this local area.
Besides being a deejay at WRFR on Tues. and Thurs. mornings, he is on the board of the DaPonte String Quartet.
He was one of the founders of the Trekker program for youth. And he is now working with Pinny Beebe-Center and others in our community on the Improving Access to Quality Care Steering Committee and the Addiction Recovery Task Force.
Much, much to talk about. And in addition, you'll hear the news from PenBayPilot.com and stories that Chris Wolf has gathered from around the web, the weather and songs to help get your day started.
We hope to see you listening or watching!
