Knox County Sheriff’s beat: Domestic violence assaults, outstanding arrest warrants
The Knox County Sheriff’s office received 271 calls for service from April 26 to May 2. Those calls that are not listed below include issues with all terrain vehicles, alarms, 911 hang-ups, nuisance, erratic vehicles and suspicious complaints. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
April 26
Deputy Paul Spear responded to a request of a well-being check on an adult male who made comments of harming himself in Union. The male was later located and all set.
Deputy Arthur Smith responded to a trespassing complaint in South Thomaston. The male subject was located and probable charges are pending.
Deputy Paul Pinkham began an investigation of harassment in Warren. The male subject in question was located and issued a warning for same.
Pinkham and Sergeant John Palmer responded to a report of a disorderly male in Warren. Following this response, the male was transported to Penobscot Bay Medical Center for an evaluation.
Deputy Jeremy Joslyn responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.
Smith arrested Daryl Young, 38, of Warren, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject is currently being held at Penobscot Bay Medical Center.
Sergeant Matt Elwell began an investigation of burglary in St. George. There are no suspects or leads at this time.
Deputy Pat Polky responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in St. George involving two vehicles. This was deemed non-reportable as it occurred on private property.
Joslyn arrested Lewis Hickman, 20, of Rockland, on two outstanding arrest warrants. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Polky and Joslyn responded to a report of a domestic in Union. This was deemed a verbal argument only and the parties were separated.
Polky and Elwell responded to a report of a domestic in Owls Head. This was deemed a verbal argument only and the parties were separated.
April 27
Palmer began an investigation of trespassing in Warren. This is still an active investigation with probable charges pending.
Pinkham responded to a report of an erratic vehicle in Warren. The vehicle and operator were located showing no signs of impairment.
Pinkham arrested Paul Powers, 57, of Union, on charges of criminal trespass and a protection from abuse violation. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Polky arrested David Olsen, 56, of St. George, on charges of operating under the influence and failing to report accident by quickest means. Subject was transported to the Knox County jail without incident.
Palmer responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Owls Head involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.
April 28
Smith responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in South Thomaston involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.
Following a traffic stop in Warren, Smith issued a summons for expired registration.
Subsequent to a traffic stop in Cushing, Deputy Nathaniel Jack issued a summons for speed.
Pinkham arrested Chasity Keizer, 35, of Cushing, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Following a traffic stop in Friendship, Polky arrested Monterral Williams, 34, of Waldoboro, on a charge of operating after suspension. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Non-reportable damage sustained.
April 29
Smith began an investigation of threatening in Warren. The suspect was located and issued a summons for same.
Smith arrested Ernest Neri, 70, of Thomaston, on a protection from abuse order and bail violation. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Following a traffic stop in Warren, Joslyn issued a summons for no inspection.
Following a traffic stop in Rockland, Joslyn issued a summons for failure to stop at a red light.
April 30
Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Washington involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.
Spear responded to a report of an adult female, making threats of harming herself in Hope. The female was located and voluntarily went to Penobscot Bay Medical Center for an evaluation.
Joslyn arrested Nathaniel Bernier, 41, of Appleton, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Spear arrested Nathan Spearin, 34, of Warren, on an outstanding arrest warrant. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
May 1
Smith responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving three vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.
Smith and Pinkham responded to a report of trespassing in Cushing. Following this response, Chad Young, 36, of Rockland, was arrested on charges of criminal trespass and a probation violation. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Deputy Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Cushing involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.
Joslyn and Sgt. Elwell responded to a report of a domestic in St. George. Following this response, Megan Wilson, 18, of St. George, was arrested on a charge of domestic violence assault. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
Deputies Jack and Smith conducted a countywide OUI detail. One arrest was made.
Sgt. Elwell began an investigation of a motor vehicle crash on Vinalhaven involving a vehicle striking a house. Reportable damage sustained.
May 2
Pinkham responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Union involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.
Pinkham responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Friendship involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.
Deputy Justin Hills began an investigation of harassment in Warren. The suspect will be issued a notice for same once located.
Following a traffic stop in Appleton, Spear issued a summons for operating after suspension.
Hills and Smith conducted a countywide OUI detail. No arrests were noted.
Following a traffic stop in Warren, Spear arrested Christopher Kimball, 33, of Rockport, on a probation violation. Subject was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
