Grants available for Maine nonprofits
Nonprofit and public organizations seeking funding for projects that draw on the strengths of the community and foster collaboration are encouraged to apply to the Maine Community Foundation’s Community Building Grant Program.
The deadline for applying is February 15, 2014. Application and guidelines are available at www.mainecf.org.
In 2013, grants included $10,000 to the Central Maine Area Agency on Aging in Augusta for a Meals On Wheels program designed to reduce senior hunger and support Maine agriculture; $9,800 to the Damariscotta River Association to monitor the river’s water quality and provide youth stewardship activities; and $10,000 to Habitat for Humanity/7 Rivers Maine for a Lincoln County weatherization, repair and renovation collaborative to assist low-income homeowners.
