Author Patsy Baldus brings her children's book to Stockton Springs story hour
STOCKTON SPRINGS — "Ready to meet Sunny Bear, the adorable teddy bear who hides out in the sunflower garden?" said Stockton Springs Community Library, in a news release. "He’s ready to share the secrets of why it is so important for kids and adults alike to grow sunflowers."
Author Patsy Baldus will be sharing these secrets Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Stockton Springs Community Library, during Story Hour starting at 10 a.m.
"Come join the fun!" said SSCL."The book is geared to K-2 grade kids, but all will enjoy its message."
There will be a slideshow, audience participation, songs, and activities afterwards for the kids.
Baldus taught most grades at the Stockton Springs School for many years before it closed.
"She loved the community involvement in the school and is excited to see the same involvement in this wonderful library," said SSCL.
Now retired, Baldus has discovered a passion for flower gardening, especially growing teddy bear sunflowers. She plans to open her Sunny Bear Garden Story Walk this summer so all can enjoy nature’s “happy” flowers while learning the benefits and uses of growing sunflowers.
