No injuries in Route 17 accident in Rockport

ROCKPORT — A two-car crash in front of Green Thumb nursery on Route 17 in Rockport totaled a car and a pickup truck, but caused no injuries.
Rockport Police Chief Mark Kelley said that Alyce Delfino of Northport was driving a 2001 Ford pickup truck west on Route 17 and preparing to turn left into Green Thumb's driveway when Jean Curtin of Georgetown rear-ended her.
Curtin was driving a 2004 Subaru sedan, and told police she could not stop quickly enough to avoid hitting the back of the pickup truck.
The impact visibly bent the frame of the big white pickup truck, and crumpled the hood of Curtin's car. Luckily though, neither woman sustained any injuries. Kelley said given the damage and age of the vehicles, both would likely be considered totaled.
