Police still seeking information on missing Cushing man
ROCKLAND — Police and the family of Kevin Stone Crute of Cushing continue to seek information on his whereabouts nine days after he was last seen or heard from.
Crute, 31, was last seen May 21 at Andes Variety in Warren, located at 1625 Atlantic Highway (Route 1). Crute's parents reported him missing four days later, on May 25, according to Carroll. Crute has not been seen or heard from since that Tuesday afternoon in Warren.
"With information that the Sheriff's Office gathered over a couple of days, we became more concerned as to the whereabouts of Mr. Crute," said Knox County Chief Deputy Tim Carroll in a press release late Thursday. "The concerns at this point are nothing more than a lack of contact."
Carroll said that Crute is known to be "very social," and that he communicated with family and friends via phone "constantly."
"Again, nothing has been heard of from since that Tuesday. We are continuing to search his residence. We have interviewed more than 60 people thus far and will continue to do so," said Carroll in the release. "Family members are obviously very concerned and are working with us to try to locate Kevin."
The Knox County Sheriff's Office is being assisted in the missing person complaint by Maine State Police, Maine Warden Service, Maine Marine Patrol and local police agencies.
Crute is described as being approximately 6-feet 2-inches tall and weighing 200 pounds with red hair and blue eyes. He was last wearing blue jeans, a grey sweatshirt and sneakers.
Authorities are seeking any help from the public about Crute's whereabouts and calls are being taken at 593-9132.
