Waldoboro police beat: assault, online harassment and distracted driving
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro officers reported responding to 206 calls for service between May 6 and May 13. Below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
May 7
Officer Thomas Hoepner summonsed a 15-year-old male for assault.
Officer Thomas Bartunek is investigating a report of harassment via social media by a female in Missouri.
Officer Bartunek summonsed William Prescott, 54, of Waldoboro, for criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.
May 9
Officer John Lash summonsed Jessica Garan, 40, of Waldoboro, for speed.
Officer Lash arrested Kelly Hall, 29, of Waldoboro, on a warrant.
Officer Bartunek investigated an accident in the Dunkin' Donuts parking lot at 4:01 p.m. Eugene Lovechenko, 65, of Brunswick was driving a 2000 Subaru sedan, and was parked in parking lot as was James Pennell, 59, of Topsham, who was driving a 2009 Chevrolet pickup truck. Lovechenko was attempting to leave, and experienced a medical problem, striking Pennell's vehicle in the passenger side.
Officer Lash is investigating a report of a burglary.
May 11
Officer Jeffery Fuller arrested Joel Harkins, 32, of Waldoboro, on a warrant.
Officer Fuller is investigating a complaint of a $50 gas drive-off.
May 12
Officer Fuller investigated an accident around 1:10 p.m. on Feylers Corner Road. Ian Grierson, 32, of Union, was driving a 2005 Nissan pickup truck and became distracted by his radio. Grierson took his eyes off the road and his truck struck a telephone pole, coming to rest in a ditch. It is unknown if there were injuries.
