Warren woman arrested for chasing man with knife
ROCKLAND — A Warren woman remains in jail for allegedly for chasing a man with a kitchen knife.
Kara Salo, 30, was arrested Aug. 4 and charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, felony violation of conditions of release, and misdemeanor violation of conditions of release.
Salo made her initial court appearance Aug. 5 in Knox County Unified Court. She had been free on bail from arrests in Dec. 2015 and April 2016 at the time of her arrest on Aug. 4.
According to the police affidavit, both Sgt. John Palmer and Deputy Paul Pinkham of the Knox County Sherriff’s Office responded to the Warren residence. The victim said that Salo grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened to kill him while she chased him in the house while holding the knife.
Salo told police that she grabbed the knife for self-defense, according to the court document.
At the time of her arrest for the alleged incident with the knife, Salo was already on three sets of bail conditions, one requiring that she checks in daily with the Rockland Police department which she has not done since July 7. She also did not update the courts of her new address in Warren after moving there from Waldoboro.
She will appear in Knox County Unified Court Aug. 18 for a bail revocation hearing.
Salo also appeared in court Aug. 11 for a dispositional conference for January charges of violating conditions of release and assault on an emergency care provider, according to the court document.
