BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity July 17-27. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. 

July 17

Miranda A. Parsons, 24, of Lincolnville, was issued a summons for criminal speeding (82 mph in a 45 mph zone) on Belfast Road in Lincolnville.

July 19

Allison E. Brown, 34, of Northport, was arrested for disorderly conduct on Rocky Road in Northport.

Nancy J. Barlow, 57, of Lincolnville, was was issued a summons for operating after suspension on Main Street in Lincolnville.

July 20

Donald Knowlton, 26, of Waldo, was issued a summons for operating after suspension on Main Street in Lincolnville.

July 21

Deputy Cassandra McDonald responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on North Main Street in Morrill, where a driver lost control of her vehicle while traveling around a corner. McDonald said the scene suggested the operator, took the turn too wide, causing her tires to travel into the dirt. The crash occurred when the operator attempted to correct the vehicle, ultimately losing control. The vehicle, a 2014 Toyota, crossed the centerline and entered a ditch before striking a utility pole. The operator, Sabrina Hazlett, 31, of Morrill was arrested for operating under the influence after a breathalyzer test revealed her blood alcohol content to be .12 percent. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Sarah E. Gilman, 30, of Brooks, was issued summonses for an inspection sticker violation, and operating after suspension on Route 139 in Brooks.

Phillip C. Lear, 30, of Unity, was issued summonses for an inspection sticker violation, and having one inadequate tire on Route 141 in Belfast.

July 22

Louis H. Buttner, 62, of Thorndike, was arrested for violation of a protection order on School Street in Unity.

Deputy Cassandra McDonald responded to the scene of a deer v. vehicle accident on Hunter Road in Unity. The operator was uninjured and the vehicle was able to be driven away.

Deputy Cassandra McDonald responded to the scene of a two vehicle accident on Waldo Station Road in Waldo. The operator of a 2003 Subaru was traveling west when a vehicle stopped at the intersection of Waterville Road pulled into their path. The operator of the second vehicle, a 2001 Buick, stated they thought the intersection was a four way stop, so after stopping they proceeded to pull out into the road, striking the Subaru on the front driver side. The operator of the Subaru complained of a headache, but declined an ambulance; the vehicle was towed from the scene. The Buick was operable and its driver uninjured.

July 23

Katrina R. Kanus, 29, of Portland, was issued a summons for speeding 78 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 3 in Palermo.

July 24

Paul A. Poley, 20, of Winterport, was issued a summons for operating after suspension on North Main Street in Winterport.

July 26

Jerry Ireland, 41, of Swanville, was arrested for failure to appear.

Jeffrey Stump, 37, of Swanville, was arrested for aggravated assault, and aggravated reckless conduct on Oak Hill Road in Swanville.
