UPDATE: Missing New York man found
CAMDEN — Camden Police said Wednesday afternoon, June 17, that Jon, the missing 22-year-old from New York, had been found today in Bucksport.
No other details have been released by police, and they are still declining to release the last name of the man, at the request of the family.
An adult male, 22, went missing from the Camden area and his family is concerned about his wellbeing. They, and the Camden Police Department, are asking the public’s help in finding Jon.
He left abruptly June 15 from a Camden hotel at approximately 10 a.m.
Jon is from New York City and arrived Sunday, June 14, in Camden. The police are declining to provide Jon’s last name at the family’s request.
Following the call for help from the family on June 15, Camden Police enlisted Knox County Sheriff Deputy Jeremy Joslyn and his bloodhound, Gunner, as well as Maine Warden Service game warden Michelle Merrifield, and her tracking dog, Piper, and Warden Chris Dyer, to help with the search that was conducted in Camden neighborhoods during the day June 15.
Jon is not wanted for any crimes, said Camden Police Detective Curt Andrick, and is not considered a threat to public safety.
The family wants to know that he is OK, and his whereabouts. There is reason to believe that his last known location was Knowlton Street, said Andrick.
Camden Police are asking the public notify them at 207-236-7953; or call, 917-617-1507; or email, findbuddiejon@gmail.com
