UPDATE: Camden-Rockport police end hunt for masked man attempting to open Brink’s truck
UPDATE — Police have ended the search in the woods behind Hannaford grocery store in Camden for a man who attempted to open the back of a Brink’s truck near Bangor Savings Bank around 10 a.m, Aug. 28.
“We don’t believe the suspect is still in the area,” said Camden Police Detective Curt Andrick.
The suspect is a white male, and no weapons were displayed, according to Andrick, on Aug. 29.
Belfast Police sent Officer Travis Spencer, and his trained dog, Dex, a Dutch-German shepherd mix, down to the woods to help in the search.
Andrick declined to discuss the search, other than to say the investigation continues. He said anonymous tips from the public are welcome.
The suspect was wearing a dark mask and haz mat coveralls, according to police reports.
CAMDEN — Police in Camden and Rockport are searching the woods behind the Hannaford Shopping Plaza for a man who apparently attempted to open the back of a Brink’s armored truck this morning, Aug. 28.
The truck was parked near the banks when the man was sighted attempting to open the back of the Brink’s truck. The man, wearing a black mask and bright yellow pants and gloves, took off into the woods, which extend to the Conway House, Merryspring Gardens and Goose River Golf Course.
Police are searching the area.
