Union man hospitalized after crashing on his motorcycle
WASHINGTON — A Union man was hospitalized Friday night after crashing his motorcycle along Route 17 in Washington.
Knox County Chief Deputy Tim Carroll said a passerby found Steven Sanner, 51, near 468 Augusta Road, located between Vanner and Fitch roads, around 10:20 p.m. May 10. Sanner had crashed his 1988 Harley Davidson motorcycle after losing control, though Carroll said it's not known exactly why he crashed.
Sanner was alone on the motorcycle.
Carroll said that Sanner was not wearing a helmet and he sustained head and neck injuries.
Sanner was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport by Union Ambulance.
"Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash," said Carroll. "The investigation continues."
